You can allow customers to upload files on the product detail page. Those files will be uploaded to the system and tied to their order if they purchase that particular product. Customer file uploads are used for personalized products, such as logo wear.
To enable this functionality:
- Log in to the admin panel of your online store.
- Click in the top right-hand corner, and click on Inventory Settings.
- On the page that appears, scroll down to the "Customer File Uploads" section.
- Set "Allow customer to upload files on product detail page" to "Yes."
- Set the "Total files to accept per product" to the desired amount. This will determine how many files a customer can upload per a product. The default value is 1.
- Then set the "Extensions you want to accept." For example, type in gif if you want to only accept .gif images. Other file types include jpg, png, and pdf.
- When done, click Save.
Once this feature has been enabled, you will need to turn on the upload setting within each product. To do this:
- In your admin, click Inventory (left-hand menu) and click on Manage Products.
- Slide your cursor to the right side of the product you would like to edit. A gear icon will appear. Move your cursor over "Edit" and then select "Advanced" from the submenu that appears.
- On the page that loads, you will see "Advanced Options" at the top.
- Set "Allow File Uploads" to YES.
- When done, click Save.
